One of the access options (for writing) involves blocking access to the file from other processes. As a result, none of them on the system will be able to move, overwrite or delete a specific file. Restrictions like these will prevent you from doing anything on the open file. In this situation, there are several options for solving the problem.

In most cases, restarting your computer is sufficient. If this does not help, then try to boot the operating system in safe mode, designed to diagnose the computer. It allows you to fix various problems that prevent the system from booting normally. To do this, you need to restart your computer. Immediately after loading the BIOS, when the system starts booting from the hard disk, press the F8 key several times. In the menu that appears, select "Safe Mode".

It should be noted that it is not always possible to delete files after a reboot, since the program that uses the file may be launched during system startup. In such a situation, it is necessary to force termination of the process using the required file. This can be done using the standard "Task Manager". To call it, press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc and go to the "Processes" tab. The complexity of this method lies in the fact that the user must know which process is busy with the file intended for deletion.

To solve this problem, you can use a special program Unlocker. It allows you to easily unblock busy files and delete them. If the system cannot delete the busy file, the program window will automatically appear, where you will need to click on the "Unlock ALL" button after which the file will be deleted.
