A sound driver is a program that is responsible for the presence of sound in the computer and the sound quality. As with any software, the sound driver sometimes needs to be updated.

Step 1
You should update the sound card driver only if the sound on the computer unexpectedly and irrevocably disappeared, and you are sure that the reason is not that you turned down the volume and forgot to turn it back on. Therefore, before performing the driver update procedure, you should check the sound.
Step 2
If you are still convinced that it is necessary to update the driver, you can go the following way:
Open the "Start" menu, go to "Control Panel" and select the "Sounds and Audio Devices" section. In the "Audio" tab, remember the name of the default device and go to the "Hardware" tab. Here, in the list of devices, you need to find what you need - the one that you remembered earlier. Click on it and at the bottom click the "Properties" button and go to the "Driver" tab. Now click on the "Delete" button. The old driver will be removed.
Step 3
The next step you need to go to the website of the manufacturer of your audio device, i.e. sound card and download the latest sound driver. If you have a laptop, you should download the driver using your model name to search. Remember to select the driver specifically for your operating system.
Step 4
Now go back to the dialog box where you successfully uninstalled the driver. Now you need to click on the "Update" button here, and following the prompts of the Hardware Update Wizard, select the driver you downloaded for installation. After successfully completing all the steps, the sound in the computer should appear.
