Antivirus software is an application designed to analyze the code of files in order to detect and remove malicious software from your computer. However, now antiviruses are entire software systems that are also involved in the elimination of potential vulnerabilities in the computer, constant analysis of the activity of running programs, control of incoming and outgoing network connections, etc.

Instructions

Step 1

How to disable antivirus software installed on your computer depends on its manufacturer and version. For example, if the Avira Premium Securite Suite is installed in the system, then to disable its module responsible for anti-virus scanning of files, you need to find the icon of this program in the notification area of the taskbar and right-click on it. In the pop-up context menu, uncheck the "AntiVir Guard enabled" item. The same can be done by opening the Avira window from the main menu of the operating system or by double-clicking on the tray icon and then clicking on the "Disable" link in the AntiVir Guard line.

Step 2

However, other modules of the antivirus program will remain active, providing protection for e-mail, web surfing, etc. If there is a need to disable these modules, for example, in the same Avira anti-virus, uncheck the other items - "Activate AntiVir MailGuard" and "Activate AntiVir WebGuard" in the context menu of the tray icon. The same items are duplicated in the main window of the anti-virus - there you need to click the checkbox next to the inscription "Online protection" and in the drop-down list click on the words "enabled" in the AntiVir MailGuard and AntiVir WebGuard lines.

Step 3

But even in this way you will not disable all the services of the anti-virus complex - many of its processes will remain active, changing only the operating mode. If you need to disable them too, then you can do this forcibly using the Windows Task Manager. It is opened by pressing the key combination ctrl + alt="Image" + delete, and the list of active processes is located on the tab of the same name - "Processes". Right-click the antivirus-related processes and select End Process from the context menu for each of them.
