One of the advantages of storing important files in an archive is the ability to encrypt them. You can set a password to the archive, thereby restricting access to information for unauthorized persons. But a situation may also arise when the password is forgotten. In such cases, it becomes necessary to decrypt the archive.

Instructions
Step 1
Download one of the latest versions of ARCHPR from the Internet (no installation required). To get started, just launch it. In the main menu, click "Open" and specify the path to the encrypted archive.
Step 2
Now you need to act, depending on the specific situation. If the type of the encrypted archive is Win Zip, proceed as follows. On the right in the main window of the program there is a line "Attack type", and just below - an arrow. Click on this arrow with the left mouse button, and then select "Guaranteed Win Zip Decryption". The decryption process will begin. Upon completion, a report will appear, which should contain the password to the archive.
Step 3
If you are going to decrypt WinRar and you know how many characters the archive consists of, then you need to act like this. Select "Length" in the main menu of the program. Now set the "Minimum Length" and "Maximum Length" parameters to the same value. For example, if the password consists of five characters, then, respectively, both values must be assigned "5". After the password length parameters are set, press "Start". As in the previous case, if the operation is successful, the password will be published in the report. The difference is that this decryption method takes much longer. But the probability of a successful outcome of the operation remains quite high.
Step 4
A situation when you do not know the number of characters in a password. In this case, in the line "Minimum length" set "1", and in the line maximum - "8". If the password contains more than eight characters, it will be almost impossible to decrypt it. Then press "Start" and wait for the operation to complete. But keep in mind that in this case it can take a very long time, and the decryption process even on a very powerful computer will take a long time. The results of the operation will be published in the report upon completion of the decoding process.
