Step 1
The simplicity of the plugin is that it consists of only 2 files. This plugin does not have a graphical shell, which allows you not to overload your blog with excesses that affect the overall load. In principle, the contents of 2 files can be simply pasted into the text, the effect will be the same, but copying the contents of these files into a new topic every time is a time-consuming task.
Step 2
The first file of this plugin will automatically add itself to the admin panel of your blog, which can make finding this plugin much easier. And the second file is needed to create the design of our drop cap. In the body of this file, you can change the following parameters: font, font color, drop cap size, indentation, etc.
Step 3
To add this plugin to your blog, you need to download it from the Internet. It should be noted that the plugin is freely available, it was written in English, i.e. do not look for a Russified version. All the necessary settings are contained in the last file, which are in English in any WordPress plugin.
Step 4
Unpack the archive with this plugin. Use an FTP program like FileZilla or Total Commander. Connect to your file storage, upload the plugin folder to the server at "site name wp-contentplugins".
Step 5
Go to the admin panel on your blog (site name / wp-admin). In the left column, find the "Plugins" item, press the key combination Ctrl + F, in the search box enter DropCap First Charakter. Opposite this plugin, click the "Activate" link. The plugin will appear in the "Recently Activated" list.
Step 6
Click on "Add Record" in the left column. In the window that opens, in the visual editor, write a sentence or a few words. Click View. A drop cap should appear instead of the first letter.
