Despite all the variety of modern gadgets (laptops, tablets, smartphones), sometimes it is more familiar and more convenient to perform a number of tasks on a stationary computer due to the presence of a large monitor, comfortable keyboard, irreplaceable mouse, etc. However, at the first connection, questions may arise for an advanced user of the same tablet, since a stationary computer, unlike a tablet, has a lot of peripheral devices that require connection.
Necessary
System unit, monitor, uninterruptible power supply, three power cords, VGA-cord, keyboard, mouse, speakers, modem, network cable, surge protector
Instructions
Step 1
First, connect the monitor to the system unit. To do this, take a VGA cable. It is easy to recognize by the connector on the monitor and the rear panel of the system unit. The plugs themselves on such a cable are usually blue and have two screws. Both ends of the cable are identical, so it doesn't matter which ends where.
Step 2
Take an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), two power cords and connect the monitor and system unit to it. The third cord must be with a plug, it is designed to connect the UPS to the mains. UPS will protect the computer from power surges and sudden power outages, which will give another 5-10 minutes of working time to save data.
Step 3
Depending on the type of plug, connect the keyboard and mouse either to the USB connectors, which can be either on the back or on the front panels of the system unit, or into the round sockets at the top of the rear panel. The latter method applies to the case when the plugs are of the so-called PS / 2 type. They are usually green (mouse) and purple (keyboard). Please note that the plug and socket must be the same color.
Step 4
Connect your speakers to listen to music and fully watch videos. The corresponding connector is usually also found on the rear panel (three small circular connectors in one row). The color of the plug must match the color of the socket. If your speaker system has 5.1 surround sound, then you need to use all three jacks, but if you have ordinary stereo speakers, then you need to use only one jack located in the center.
Step 5
To access the Internet, connect the modem to the computer using a network cable with plugs like a telephone. The connector for this cable is located on the rear panel of the system unit just below the USB ports. The modem itself must be connected to the power supply using the adapter supplied with it and to the Internet line connected to your apartment.
Step 6
At this stage, the computer is almost completely assembled. To connect the computer power, plug the UPS plug into the surge protector, and the filter itself into a household power outlet. First turn on the uninterruptible power supply and wait until the light on it stops flashing.
Step 7
On the front panel of the system unit there is a power button: the larger of the two (the second is the reset button). On the monitor, the power button may be in different places depending on the type of monitor. Turn on the monitor first, and then the system unit. In a minute, the computer will boot up and be ready to go.
