The processor, video card and other components of the system unit generate a large amount of heat, worsening the temperature microclimate inside the computer. In summer, this is especially true, since hot weather can lead to overheating of computer components and their incorrect operation. Therefore, many users are thinking about how to avoid this. The easiest and most affordable way is to install an additional cooler inside the case of the system unit.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - case cooler;
- - screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
First, choose which cooler you will install in the case. The standard sizes of case coolers are 3, 5 "and 5, 25", but not always coolers of both form factors will fit your case. Therefore, before buying, do not be too lazy to open the computer case and check what size cooler you can supply. They are usually installed on the back of the case, so carefully check the distance between the fasteners in this place.
Step 2
Now, knowing what form factor you need, select the manufacturer and model of the cooler. This business must be approached thoughtfully: an optimally chosen cooler should combine an affordable price, low noise and a good degree of cooling. The information here changes very quickly, so it is better to study the relevant thematic forums and Internet publications on the Internet. Nevertheless, pay attention to the fact that coolers from Scythe or Noctua have proven themselves well in this niche: they combine quiet operation and high quality cooling.
Step 3
Finally, having chosen and purchased a case cooler, you can start installing it. To do this, insert the cooler into the disassembled case on the back wall of the system unit so that the holes in it coincide with the fasteners. The cooler blades can be turned both inside the system unit and outward. Secure the cooler with screws.
Step 4
Now connect the power to the cooler. Insert the wire from the cooler into the small white connector on the motherboard labeled Chassis Fan.
Step 5
To test the cooler operation, turn on the computer without closing the lid. If it is installed correctly, then its blades should twist and air flow will be felt. If this is not observed, check the contacts, try pulling out and re-inserting the wire from the cooler into the Chassis Fan connector. Then close the lid of the system unit. This completes the installation of the case cooler.
