Any more or less successful motion picture acquires a "game based on" - the Chronicles of Riddick is no exception. The game turned out to be so good that many rated it even higher than the film itself, and therefore it is not surprising that several years after its release, it remains relevant. However, the product did not bypass some technical overlays, so it is not always possible to launch it the first time.

Step 1
Choose the edition that's right for your PC. There are two versions of The Chronicle of Riddick: the original itself, and an improved HD version. There are several fundamental differences: the first part works on weaker machines, but only on Windows XP; the second, on the contrary, requires much more power and is installed on Windows 7, but it has improved graphics and an additional plot chapter. Based on the capabilities of your computer, choose exactly the installation option that suits you best.
Step 2
Install the patch for ATI. Due to technical imperfections, the game may not support some models of video cards from this manufacturer. However, the problem is not fatal: it is solved by installing the appropriate software - drivers that the developers released additionally after the release. If this does not help, then download the Riva Tuner program and set the compatibility "1.5" in the OpenGL settings, and reset the settings to "standard" in all third-party programs.
Step 3
Check the originality of the package. On the Internet, there are many RePack editions that arbitrarily change the original product: they exclude additional languages from it, recode videos or install additional options. All this can somehow reduce the flexibility of the game, and it will stop running on certain types of systems. Use only the original installation disc or the Steam version.
Step 4
Remove the crack. One of the first amateur translations into Russian, which appeared on the network, was distinguished by a very dubious performance: it required the alternate installation of several files during the passage - therefore, for many users the game with it simply did not start. If this (or a similar) translation is installed on your version of the game, it should be removed or, if this is not possible, download the official Russian version.
