Information about the ip-address and port of your computer may be needed in the case of its configuration, transfer, determination of connection errors and other cases. As a rule, users store such information in a printed version, however, if necessary, you can also clarify the data using our tips.
Instructions
Step 1
First, by typing in the search box of any search engine, for example, Yandex "how to find out your ip and port", you will immediately receive a lot of links to sites that provide this information immediately and free of charge. The fact is that, referring to the site, your computer reports data about itself to the server where the site is located. The computer reports its ip-address to the server first, waiting for a response from the server. Your ip-address is allocated to you by the provider, and the address can be either permanent (the so-called "white" ip) or changing, but in the range of ip-addresses allocated to the provider.
Step 2
Secondly, you can find out your data by clicking the Start / Run button, write in the command line: CMD, press Enter. In the black window write: ipconfig, press Enter. To view your port, in the same black window write: netstat –n, press Enter.
Step 3
Finally, the third, no less simple way. In the lower right corner of your screen, there is a Local Area Connection icon that looks like two flickering monitors. Double-click on this icon and in the "Connection Status" window that appears, go to the "Support" tab. On this tab, you will find your ip address, subnet mask and default gateway. By clicking on the "Details" button, you can find more detailed information - details of the network connection.
