Some programs automatically deploy their components to the Startup menu during installation. Most often, this integration is achieved by making changes to a specific system file. Naturally, launching a large number of applications greatly slows down the initial boot of the PC.

Instructions
Step 1
There are several methods to manage startup options in Windows Seven operating system. First, check the contents of a specific directory. Open the Start menu and expand the All Programs list.
Step 2
Open the Startup directory. Examine its contents and remove the shortcuts of those programs that should not run together with the operating system.
Step 3
Press the key combination "Start" and R. Fill in the opened msconfig command field and press the Enter key. Wait for the menu with the heading "System Configuration" to start. Go to the "Startup" tab.
Step 4
Examine the list of programs located in the "Startup Items" column. Uncheck the boxes for those utilities for which this function should be disabled. Press the Ok button and in the new menu select the "Restart later" item. Check the box next to the Do not display this window in the future.
Step 5
If you would like to use additional software to customize startup settings, install the free CCleaner utility. You can download it from the developers site www.piriform.com. Install the program and open it.
Step 6
Select the "Tools" tab and open the "Startup" submenu. Highlight the unnecessary program and click the "Turn off" button. Disable the automatic launch of other applications in the same way. Restart your computer after making changes and make sure the selected programs no longer start. If you have disabled important components, return them to the startup menu.
Step 7
If you want to disable automatic startup of Windows system services, open the System Configuration menu as described in the third step. Select the Services tab. Uncheck unnecessary components. Click the Apply button and restart your computer.
