Microsoft ActiveSync is software that synchronizes your computer and Windows Mobile-based devices. This software allows you to exchange data with the Outlook mail program, images, Microsoft Office documents, audio files, etc.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have ActiveSync installed, and it does not see the connected device and cannot sync, it is better to reinstall this software. First, the program must be completely removed.
Step 2
Click on "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Add or Remove Programs". Find MS ActiveSync in the list and click Uninstall. Then restart your computer. Go to C: / Program Files / and delete the Microsoft ActiveSync folder.
Step 3
If you are unable to uninstall this software using the above standard procedure, you will need to manually uninstall. To do this, you need to take actions that will make changes to the registry. Serious system failures can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Be careful.
Step 4
For additional protection, back up the registry before making any changes. In the event of a problem, the registry can be restored using a copy.
Step 5
If the ActiveSync shortcut remains on the desktop, drag it to the Trash, or select it and press the Del key. Go to C: / Program Files / and delete the Microsoft ActiveSync folder by pressing the Shift + Del key combination.
Step 6
Click the "Start" button, then click on the "Run" item, in the command line, type Regedit and click the OK button. The "Registry Editor" window will open. Go to the menu "Edit" - "Find".
Step 7
Find and delete the following registry keys:
HKey_Local_Machine / Software / Microsoft / Windows / Current Version / Uninstall / Windows CE Services
HKey_Local_Machine / Software / Microsoft / Windows CE Services
HKey_Users / Default / Software / Microsoft / Windows CE Services.
Step 8
Then restart your computer and, if necessary, reinstall ActiveSync. If the Connect dialog box appears after restarting, click Cancel and continue reinstalling ActiveSync.
