If the indicator is on and Bluetooth is running, but it still does not work, then you need to check the drivers. Go to the Start menu and open the Control Panel. Here you need to find the item "Bluetooth Devices". If the system shows that "Bluetooth device" is not found or does not work, then a new installation of drivers will be required. Typically, a driver disc comes with a laptop or external adapter. If there is no such disk, then the drivers can be found on the manufacturer's website, downloaded and installed from there. If the installation did not help, then most likely the problem lies directly with the Bluetooth adapter and this problem can only be solved by purchasing a new one.
Troubleshooting
Quite often the problem lies in the new version of the operating system. Sometimes, after reinstalling the OS, old drivers may remain, but they will not work with the new operating system. In order to solve an urgent problem, you will first need to remove the old drivers, and then install new ones from the manufacturer's website. To uninstall again, you need to go to the "Control Panel" and find the "Bluetooth Devices" icon. After clicking, a list of devices will appear where you need to remove the integrated module. After uninstalling, you need to restart the computer and let the system install the drivers for the device on its own. If this does not happen, then you need to go to the official website of the manufacturer of the laptop or Bluetooth adapter, indicate the version of the operating system with which you are working, and download the drivers, which you then need to install yourself.
If none of these methods solved the problem, then, most likely, it lies in the adapter itself and it will need to be replaced with a new one. Fortunately, finding them now is not difficult in a special computer store.
