When a person works at a computer for a long enough time, sooner or later he will have a desire to customize it for himself. And here we are not even talking about programs, but simply about the appearance. For example, if you sit down at the computer after a previous colleague, you may not like a taskbar that is too high.
Instructions
Step 1
This method is applicable to all operating systems of the Windows family. While in the system, hover the mouse cursor over the taskbar and press the right mouse button. You will see a context menu with an item "Dock the taskbar".
Step 2
Determine the presence of a checkmark in front of this item. If there is no check mark, you can simply exit this menu and move the mouse cursor over the border between the taskbar and the desktop or window of any currently running program. You will see that when you hover over this border, the cursor changes to a double arrow.
Step 3
Hold down the left mouse button and move the cursor down until the taskbar reaches the height you require. If the checkbox is still checked next to the "Pin taskbar" item, just uncheck it with the left mouse click and repeat the steps described in the previous paragraph.
Step 4
Call the context menu of the taskbar with the right mouse click and again select the "Dock taskbar" item. In order not to accidentally resize the panel during operation, you should make sure that there is a check mark next to the selected item. You can remove or re-install it by simply clicking the left mouse button.
Step 5
Adjust the control panel settings if necessary. To do this, open the menu by right-clicking on the taskbar and select the "Properties" option. You will see a window in which you can customize not only the taskbar and how various icons and icons are displayed on it, but also customize the Start menu and toolbar.
Step 6
Customize the icons displayed on the taskbar. To do this, in the open settings window, use the "Taskbar" tab. In the area of the item "Notification area" click on the "Configure" button.
Step 7
Set the desired values for the taskbar icons. In this window, you work with a general list of all task shortcuts visible in the system tray. In order to change the parameters of a particular icon, use the display format selection list for the required icon. Then click the "OK" button to install the changes.
