Installing two or more operating systems over time can develop into various kinds of problems, such as lack of free space or the need to constantly select the system to start at computer startup. The problem can be resolved by uninstalling one of the installed operating systems. Below is a method for deleting when the disk contains two Windows folders in the same partition.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on the computer and select the one you want to save in the operating system selection window. From the Start menu, select Run, write down and run the% windir% command. The folder of the running operating system will open, remember, or better write down the path to it, usually "C: WINDOWS".
Step 2
Now find the second Windows folder on the disk, make sure that the found folder differs from the one found in step 1. This folder can be completely deleted.
Step 3
Open the "System Properties" window, go to the "Advanced" tab. In the "Startup and Recovery" section, click the "Options" button, in the window that opens, click the "Edit" button.
Step 4
Notepad opens with the Boot.ini file, and you need to make some changes. The approximate content of the file is shown in the figure. Save a backup copy of this file and name it Boot.old. Close Notepad.
Step 5
Repeat Step 3, the Boot.ini file will open again.
In the [boot loader] section, delete the line corresponding to the operating system to be removed, the one whose folder was deleted in "Step 2", for example, this is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, then the line
