Removing the operating system is an interesting creative process. Most often, in order to completely remove the OS from the local disk, you have to format the partition on which it is installed.

Instructions

Step 1

Let's consider the option of removing the operating system from another computer. This is a fairly simple method because it does not require any software. Turn off your computer and remove the hard drive. Connect it to another PC.

Step 2

Turn on the second computer and start the operating system installed on it. Windows will automatically detect your hard drive. Open a window containing a list of hard disk partitions connected to this computer.

Step 3

Open the partition on which the OS to be removed is installed. Highlight the Windows folder and press Del. Wait for the uninstall operation to complete.

Step 4

Now let's consider a situation when it is not possible to connect a hard drive to another computer, but your PC has a different operating system.

Step 5

Turn on your computer and start the second OS. Open the section containing the unnecessary operating system and repeat the steps described in the third step.

Step 6

If both of the above methods do not work, then you will need an installation disc for one of the following operating systems: Windows XP, Vista or Seven.

Step 7

Insert the above disc into your DVD drive and run the installer. Most likely, for this you will need to press F8 at the start of the PC boot and select the method to boot from the DVD drive.

Step 8

Continue running the installer until you are presented with a local drive selection menu.

Step 9

For Windows XP, select the partition that contains the operating system you do not need and press the F button to format it.

Step 10

If you are dealing with a Windows Vista or Seven disk, then click the "Disk Setup" button, select the desired partition and click the "Format" button.

Step 11

The obvious disadvantage of the third method of demolishing the operating system is that in addition to the OS itself, all information will be deleted from the disk partition.
