When the image on the monitor screen is distorted, it is rather inconvenient to work on the computer. Stripes, ripples, twitching, flickering - all this can lead to impaired vision, nausea, headaches. The picture on the monitor "jitters" for various reasons.
If your monitor (especially a lamp one) is already very many years old, it is possible that some of its parts are out of order. No changes in the settings can fix this. If your monitor is still under warranty, take it to a service center. Better yet, consider purchasing a new device, and if you are concerned about flickering on your monitor, change the refresh rate. By default, the screen is refreshed once a minute. This is not enough for some monitors. Call the "Display" component. To do this, right-click on any free part of the "Desktop" and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. A new dialog box will open; this window can be invoked in another way. From the Start menu, open Control Panel. In the "Appearance and Themes" category, select any of the assignments or click on the "Display" icon with the left mouse button. In the window that opens, go to the "Options" tab and click on the "Advanced" button. In the "Properties: Monitor Connector Module and [name of your video card]" window, open the "Monitor" tab and set the checkbox to "Hide modes that the monitor cannot use". In the "Monitor settings" group, set the required screen refresh rate by selecting a value from the drop-down list. The higher the frequency, the less the monitor flickers. Click on the "Apply" button, confirm the changes and close the window. The reason for the unstable operation of the monitor may be problems with the video card or the wrong choice of driver. Install the driver to the monitor from the installation disc supplied with the monitor. If the disc is lost and you are about to download the driver from the Internet, be sure to double-check your monitor model and install the software only from the official hardware manufacturer's website. Sometimes image problems can be caused by other equipment operating in the immediate vicinity of the monitor. In this case, take care to keep appliances emitting microwaves away from your monitor.
