Basically, a printer is a computerized typewriter. Dot matrix printers print using special rods with symbols. The pins hit the tape and transfer the image onto the paper.

Printers work differently depending on the model. Laser, for example, work on the basis of static electricity and a special toner, which is dry fine particles. When they pass through the toner unit, they are heated by the laser beam, then appear on the drum inside the printer. Toner collects charged particles and transfers an image of the characters onto the paper, which is printed in its entirety. Inkjet printers work differently. Most of them use water-based ink. Inkjet printers have a print head that first scans an image and then heats up the ink. The desired characters are obtained first on the tape of the cartridge, and then on the paper. The image is not printed immediately - the printer outputs characters gradually, and the printing speed is affected by the settings of a particular model. When you want to print a document, you just click on the "Print" button. The printer prints because the computer system has transferred this information to its random access memory - the data buffer. You can set tasks one at a time or cancel printing using the appropriate settings on the computer in the printer program. The technician will deal with the received tasks on his own, just watch out for the presence of paper in the tray. If the printer does not respond to commands or prints blank pages, then some kind of malfunction has occurred. It is difficult to determine the hardware breakdown on your own, but if the printer prints blank sheets, then it may be out of ink. This is easy to understand if before that you noticed that the brightness of the prints decreases, or streaks appear on the paper, or if the print has become of poor quality. If the installed cartridges were "original", the printer will display a corresponding message, if "compatible" - monitor the ink level.
