Automatic launch of programs when loading a profile is a convenient feature implemented in modern operating systems. However, even such a useful tool can cause certain inconveniences. The fact is that the principles of installing software in Windows allow the possibility of adding programs to the startup list without the user's knowledge. That is why quite often, after installing the application and then rebooting, users begin to look for an answer to the question of how to remove autorun programs. This is not difficult to do.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove programs from the startup folder. Click the "Start" button on the taskbar, open the menu with a list of programs, select "Startup", find the shortcut of the program you want to remove. Right click on the shortcut. Select "Delete". In the warning window that appears, click the "Yes" button.

Step 2

Start Registry Editor. Click the "Start" button. In the menu that appears, select the "Run …" item. The "Run Program" dialog will be displayed. In the "Open" field of this dialog enter the string "regedit". Click the "OK" button.

Step 3

Remove programs from the startup list for all users. Open the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run" by sequentially expanding the branches of the tree located on the left side of the application window. Highlight the "Run" section. In the list of startup programs on the right, find the line corresponding to the application that you want to remove from autorun. Highlight this line in the list. Press the Del button, or right-click on the line and select "Delete" from the context menu.

Remove programs from the current user's autorun list. Open the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run". Similar to the previous point, delete the registry settings that are responsible for launching programs.
