Instructions
Step 1
Open the video in VirtualDub. To do this, use the Open Video file command from the File menu. In the window that opens, select the required file by clicking on it with the left mouse button and click on the "Open" button.
Step 2
Create a multi-layered document from which to animate. To do this, find the frame from which the segment of the video begins, suitable for converting into an animated gif. Use the triangle and key button at the bottom of the VirtualDub window to navigate through the keyframes of the video. Copy the frame to the clipboard using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + 1. In Photoshop, create a new document using the Ctrl + N keyboard shortcut and paste the copied frame into it using the Ctrl + V keyboard shortcut. Return to VirtualDub, move to the next keyframe, copy it to the clipboard and paste it on the next layer into the Photoshop document. Proceed in the same way until all the frames needed to create the animation have been copied.
Step 3
In Photoshop, open the Animation panel. To do this, select Animation from the Window menu.
Step 4
Create a sequence of frames for the animation. To do this, turn off the visibility of all layers in the Layers palette, except for the one on which the very first frame was inserted, by clicking on the icon in the form of an eye. The thumbnail is located to the left of the layer. Create the second frame of the animation by left-clicking on the triangle button in the upper right corner of the Animation panel and choosing New Frame from the menu that appears. Turn on the visibility of the layer with the second copied frame by clicking the left mouse button on the icon in the form of an eye. Create all other frames in the same way. Use the New Frame command and turn on the visibility of the next layer.
Step 5
Adjust the duration of the frame in the animation. To do this, click on the first frame with the left mouse button, then click on the last frame while holding down the Shift key. Click on the triangle indicating the duration of the frame below any frame. Select a duration from the drop-down menu. To view the animation, use the Play button at the bottom of the Animations panel. Change the length of the frame if necessary.

Save the animation as.gif"
