Nowadays, computer animation is considered from two perspectives: planar or 2D animation and volumetric or 3D animation. We are already accustomed to seeing games, commercials, films, video clips that use computer animation made with the help of programs, and we are surprised at how quickly this young technology conquered the world.

Necessary

  • - computer;
  • - Corel Draw;
  • - Adobe Illustrator.

Instructions

Step 1

Create templates for your 2D cartoon or animation. Create a separate template for the character and the environment. You also need to paint the backgrounds. Note that characters should not blend in with the background when creating 2D animations, so choose colors to prevent this.

Step 2

Decide on the key scenes of your video, then create intermediate frames. They represent the pictures that will be located between the animation keys. There can be from one to twelve. The speed of movement of the character or element of the drawing will depend on the distance between the intermediate frames.

Step 3

Colorize the frames to continue creating 2D animation. Then work out the camera movements and add special effects. Before adding camera movement, combine the background and character layers in one composition. For example, if you want to depict a character walking, first compose the movement of the background image and the character, and then just the movement of the camera.

Step 4

Apply effects: make the background objects out of focus, make the character spin on its axis, change the brightness of the colors, add the disappearance of the character. Next, go to the rendering of scenes to start editing.

Step 5

Apply Flash technology if you need to make 2D animation for use on the Internet. Macromedia Flash allows you to create various types of animated images. Add the created animation elements to the program. Consecutively build the animation frames, changing their content. The program supports multi-layer images, here you can move an object, change its size, shape, transparency.

Step 6

Create a separate image for each frame, for this you need to create intermediate frames. You can also use the Tweened animation function, it will only add keyframes, and the program will add the rest of it automatically. You can save the resulting animation in the following formats: gif, avi, mov, swf.
