Step 1
Make sure your laptop has a lithium-ion battery. For this specification, see the user manual or on the box from the computer. The manufacturer designates the battery type with the letter combination Li-Ion.

A new laptop usually has an uncharged or partially charged battery. The Li-Ion system does not have the "memory effect" of older devices. Also, batteries of the next generation - lithium-polymer (Li-Poly) - are not subject to such action. But in order not to disrupt the operation of the system, it is necessary to properly charge the laptop for the first time.
Step 3
Without turning on the computer, connect the charger to it and leave it charging for the first time overnight. This will ensure you get the most charged battery possible. If you can not resist and turn on the laptop, after 10-20 minutes on the first charge, the battery icon may show 100% readiness. Turn off the computer, remove the battery, wait a few seconds. Reinsert the battery. Connect your laptop to the charger. The battery may become very hot while charging.
Step 4
In order for the battery of a new laptop to reach its maximum capacity, it must be "trained". After overnight charging, unplug the power supply and work on the computer in offline mode until the battery is completely discharged. Reconnect your computer to the network at night. Repeat these manipulations several times (3-5) to design the battery well.

Note that a new battery will charge and discharge faster. The actual battery life on the computer may not initially match the manufacturer's specifications. Do not rush to the store: after a few full charges, the battery can easily withstand the specified time.
