Mozilla Firefox has a built-in downloader that lets you download files from the web. Power users usually change their browser settings to manage downloads. Newbies often leave all options at their default values. The download then takes place in a predefined directory, which is not displayed anywhere, so it is not clear where Firefox saves the files.
Instructions
Step 1
In the Mozilla browser, the user has a choice: either download all files from the network into one specially selected folder, or each time specify the desired directory to save a particular file. Start Firefox and make sure the window displays the menu bar. If it is not there, right-click on the top panel and mark the menu bar item in the drop-down list with a marker.
Step 2
Select the "Tools" item and the "Settings" sub-item in the menu term, a new dialog box will open. Make sure you are on the General tab and notice the Downloads field. If the marker is opposite the "Path for saving files" item, it means that all files will be automatically loaded into the same folder, its name is indicated in the field to the right. To find out more precisely the directory where the files are saved, click the "Browse" button and trace the path from the main folder to the subfolder where your files are loaded.
Step 3
To be able to specify the required directory when downloading files, set the marker in the “Downloads” field opposite the item “Always prompt to save files” and click the OK button in the lower right corner of the window. With these settings, every time you upload files, you will see a window asking you to select the appropriate folder on your computer.
Step 4
Also, the Mozilla Firefox browser keeps a download log. Until you clear the history, you can at any time see where this or that file was saved. Select the menu item "Tools" and the sub-item "Downloads" or press the key combination Ctrl + J, a new dialog box "Library" will open.
Step 5
Using the left mouse button, select the "Downloads" item in the left part of the window. The list of downloaded files will be displayed on the right side. Right-click on the file you are interested in - a menu with available actions will appear. Select "Open folder with file", the corresponding folder will open, and you can see the path to it in the address bar.
