In some cases (after reinstalling the operating system or as a result of improper shutdown of an ionic application), your monitor screen settings may be reset. In this case, the standard resolution is usually set to 800 by 600 pixels, as a result of which the displayed area becomes much smaller, black bars appear on the sides of the screen. To restore normal functioning, it is necessary to return the faulty monitor settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Right-click on a free area of the desktop to properly stretch the screen. After this action, a menu will appear, in which select the "Properties" item. Next, select the "Settings" tab, as a result of which you will get an image of the computer monitor and adjustment scales that allow you to adjust the color reproduction quality and screen resolution at your discretion. If the resolution is set at 800 by 600 dpi, then use the slider to set it to the maximum possible, for example, 1280 by 1024 dpi.
Step 2
If the slider does not move, then take the computer out of Safe Mode or install the missing video card drivers. In this situation, in order to properly stretch the monitor screen, reinstall the video card drivers using the disk that came with it. If there is none, download the necessary software from the manufacturer's website for this device. But first, make sure that the problem lies precisely in the above reasons.
Step 3
Right-click on the "My Computer" icon. Then select "Properties". In the window that opens, select the "Equipment" tab. In the list of devices, mark the video adapters and, with the same right-click, click on "Properties". In the window that appears, select the driver tab and proceed to carefully study the information about its latest version and update date. If it is said that the driver is not found or is missing, then it will have to be reinstalled.
Step 4
If everything is fine with the video card driver, then check the monitor driver. The procedure is the same as when checking the video card driver. Right click on the icon "My Computer", then "Properties", "Hardware" and "Device Manager". Select "Monitors" and check the driver status. If it is absent, you will need to install it. For these purposes, use the disc supplied with the monitor or download the appropriate software from the manufacturer's website. After completing all these operations, you can easily stretch the monitor screen.
