Not always and not all images are perfect, be it a drawing or a photograph. Sometimes you need to tweak something. If you need to stretch an image, there are several ways to do this in Adobe Photoshop.
Instructions
Step 1
The way of processing, and, consequently, the final result, depends on what defects are present in the original photograph. If the proportions of the image are violated, the procedure can be as follows. Start the editor and open the file you want. Select your drawing with the appropriate tool (hotkey - Latin M) and click on the selection with the right mouse button.
Step 2
A context menu will open. Select the item Free Transform ("Free transformation"). If you want to stretch the image horizontally, move the mouse cursor to the right or left edge of the picture, if vertically - to the top or bottom edge, respectively. The cursor changes to a double-headed arrow.
Step 3
While holding down the left mouse button, drag the image frame to the desired side. The drawing will stretch. Release the mouse button and double click on the selection. Or select any other tool and in the request window agree to the changes just made. With this method, the size of the updated image may not match the size of the canvas.
Step 4
If you know that there is not enough space on the canvas, increase its size in advance. To do this, select Canvas Size from the Image menu. In the window that opens, specify the new aspect ratio and click the OK button. If the size of the canvas, on the contrary, turned out to be too large, cut it off. To do this, select the part of the image that should remain, in the Image menu, select Crop ("Crop").
Step 5
You can also stretch the image by setting the desired aspect ratio. From the Image menu, choose Image Size. In the window that opens, uncheck the Constrain Proportions field and set the desired values in the Pixel Dimensions group. Click on the OK button.
