When buying a monitor, there is always a chance to stumble upon a factory defect, and it does not matter who the manufacturer of the monitor is and where the purchase is made. The monitor should be carefully checked for faults prior to purchase using visual inspection and specialized software.
Instructions
Step 1
One of the free programs for fully testing LCD monitors is the TFT monitor test program. The program is portable, i.e. does not require installation and can run from any media.
Run the program and select the "Filled screen" test. During the test, the color of the screen will be consistently and completely painted over in different colors. If a pixel is found on the screen, burning white or black in any screen color, this indicates a defective pixel.
Step 2
Run the "Moving Square" test. This test allows to estimate the rate of response of the matrix, while checking the presence of a "tail" in the square.
Step 3
Tests "Circles", "Patterns", "Lines" and "Grid" will help to assess the clarity of the image at resolutions other than standard. It is also possible to conduct a number of less significant tests, such as readability of small text, uniformity of color transitions, etc.
