Sometimes when we buy a new keyboard, we find that the keys are arranged in an unusual order for us. This is especially true for the laptop keys. You can change the assignment of keys on the keyboard using special software.
Instructions
Step 1
Click on the "Start" button, go to the main menu, select "Control Panel" and double-click on the "Mouse" shortcut. In this menu it is possible to change the assignment of the mouse keys. When the submenu is displayed as categories, select Printers and Other Hardware first and then Mouse.
Step 2
In the "Mouse Properties" window that opens, go to the "Mouse Button" tab, then go to the "Button Configuration" column. In it, you can configure the mouse for left-handed control, to do this, check the box next to the "Change button assignments" item. Then click "Apply" and "Ok". Now the assignment of the keys on the mouse has been reversed.
Step 3
Open your browser, follow the link https://aescripts.com/keytweak/ to download the application for changing the assignment of keyboard buttons - KeyTweak from the official manufacturer's website. Wait for the program installation file to download and install it on your computer.
Step 4
Launch the KeyTweak application from the main menu to change the keyboard button assignments. In the program window, select the key you want to reassign. Next, at the bottom of the program from the list, select the symbol that you want to set for this key, click on the Remap key button.
Step 5
To return to the original settings, use the Restore Default button. You can also select other assignments for a key from the list on the right side of the program, for example, to assign the function of shutting down the computer to any key, click on it in the program screen, then select the button that shows the monitor with the inscription Power Off.
Step 6
Similarly, you can assign the transition to sleep mode, calling the windows "My Computer", "Calculator", "Explorer", browser control keys and audio player. At the top of the program, all the changes you made to the keyboard buttons will be displayed. Cancel them by returning to the default settings if necessary.
