A laptop user or a laptop repair technician may need to know the name of the motherboard model. This is true if the laptop is functional. The proposed instruction will tell you how to identify the motherboard in a laptop without interfering with its hardware. Consider this for the Windows operating system and the CPU-Z program - it is quite common on the web, it is small and free.

Instructions
Step 1
Establish an Internet connection in the standard way that it is provided for in your Windows system.
Step 2
Launch the browser and in the address input line enter https://cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html then press Enter. The website of the CPU-Z program will be displayed in front of you. In the right column of the page that opens, find the version of the program with the word "setup". It is located immediately under the heading "Download latest release". Go to the first option to download the English version of the program. After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions. A shortcut to launch the program will appear on the "Desktop". Run it. The main program window will open, which contains several information sections. Switching between them is organized in the form of tabs. Immediately after starting the program, the first tab will be displayed - CPU
Step 3
Switch to the Mailboard tab by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Three subsections of information about the characteristics of the motherboard installed on the laptop will be displayed:
- Motherboard (Basic information about the motherboard);
- BIOS (Information about the vendor and BIOS version);
- Graphic Interface - In the Motherboard, the first two lines will give you comprehensive information about the board manufacturer - Manufacturer and the board model - Model.
Step 4
This information will be enough to find out which motherboard is used by your laptop manufacturer. Write them down for yourself and keep them. After all, it is possible that in the future this information will be useful. For example, if a laptop fails, it will already be known which board to order for replacement - in case of self-repair. If the data is transferred to the service workers, it will somewhat speed up the repair.
