Step 1
Many batteries become unusable long before the declared service life expires. This is most often caused by improper use of the battery and lack of timely maintenance of the battery. If you notice instability in the battery, proceed to remove this device.
Step 2
First, turn off your mobile computer. Be sure to perform a complete shutdown of the laptop. Never use hibernation in this situation. Disconnect your mobile device from AC power. To do this, remove the power supply connector from the corresponding socket.

Find out the type of battery attachment to the case. In older laptops, special screws are used for this. Unscrew them using a screwdriver with a suitable tip.
Step 4
Gently pry the edge of the battery with a metal spatula or nails and remove the battery. Replace the cover of the vacant compartment.

No additional tools are required to disconnect the battery in modern laptops. Examine the latches on the mobile computer.
Step 6
Change the position of the first knob. Most often, the desired direction is marked with an arrow. Open the second latch. Most likely, one end of the battery will lift slightly after performing this procedure. Remove the battery.
Step 7
Connect your laptop to AC power. Turn on your mobile computer. Wait a while for the operating system to load. Change your Action Center settings so you don't see the missing battery icon all the time.

If you didn't remove the battery to replace it, but just want to use the laptop without a battery for a while, keep in mind a few important nuances. First, do not store a fully discharged battery for a long time. Connect the battery to your laptop at least once every two months. This will prevent potential problems from occurring.
