Laptop upgrades are severely limited to parts that users can change on their own. Still, portable computers are much less designed for frequent parsing due to their design and the density of the arrangement of parts. However, most often it is possible to change the memory on a laptop without resorting to specialized services.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, to change memory, see your laptop repair and maintenance manual. If you do not have it in paper form, you can find and download it from the manufacturer's website. The fact is that laptop models are arranged differently inside. And advice on how to change the memory on a laptop, for example, from HP, is not suitable for owners of computers from Apple. In the manual, you will see the layout of all components and learn how to safely disassemble the laptop.
Step 2
After reading the manual and knowing the location of the memory modules, proceed to dismantle the parts. Disconnect the power and remove the battery. To loosen the screws, you need a small screwdriver, which can be found in the watch repair kit.
Step 3
Depending on the model, you will need to remove different parts to get to the right modules and change the memory in the laptop. Memory modules can be located both under the main back cover of the case, and under special compartments in the cover. In the latter case, changing the memory is an order of magnitude easier. You only need to remove the cover of this compartment to access the required boards.
Step 4
After replacing the memory, reassemble the removed parts in the reverse order. Replace and secure the rear case cover, put in the battery, and turn on the laptop. After booting the operating system, just in case, check that the entire amount of installed memory is detected correctly.
