During the use of the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, certain malfunctions associated with the installed software may occur. To fix these problems, you need to perform the procedure for resetting the last settings and restoring the system.
Instructions
Step 1
Windows 7 uses restore checkpoints to restore software state, which can be created either automatically or manually. To avoid losing important data, it is necessary to periodically create data recovery points.
Step 2
To create a point for you to use when restoring the software, go to the System Protection menu. To do this, click "Start" and right-click on the "Computer" section. In the menu that appears, select Properties and then System Protection. Then click "Create", and in the new window go to the "Create" item again.
Step 3
To reset the settings and return to the previous state of the computer, go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "System and Security" - "Backup and Restore" - "Restore System Settings" - "Start System Restore". You can also open the Start menu and type System Restore in the search box, then press Enter.
Step 4
In the window that appears, click "Next" and select a restore point from the options offered. After completing the procedure, press the "Finish" button and restart your computer. The recovery process is complete.
Step 5
You can also perform recovery by installing the boot disk from your Windows 7 into the computer's floppy drive and booting from it as during system installation. In the "Install Windows" menu that appears, select the "System Restore" section from the lower left corner of the window. Specify the type of recovery you want to perform.
Step 6
The "Startup Restore" item will help get rid of problems that arise during system startup. System Image Restore will restore your computer and reset the data from the disk by default. In this window, click on the item that suits you best and follow the prompts that appear on the screen.
