To watch movies, you must have an appropriate program installed on your computer. For most formats, the built-in Windows Media Player is sufficient. But even in order for it to be able to play videos, additional programs must be installed. To watch DVD, HDTV movies, you must have an appropriate player with a built-in decoder installed, otherwise the video of these formats will not be played.

- - Computer with Windows OS;
- - a package of codecs K-Lite Codec Pack;
- - PowerDVD program.
Instructions
Step 1
Before installing the player, you need to install the codecs, otherwise it will simply not work properly (except for some players with built-in codecs). Download the free K-Lite Codec Pack from the internet. It has all the necessary audio and video codecs for normal video playback. You need to download it specifically for your operating system. You should also take into account its bit depth.
Step 2
Install the codecs on your computer. During the installation process, you will see that the codecs and add-ons are checked. You do not need to uncheck any checkboxes. Just click "Next" in each window. Then restart your computer.
Step 3
After the codecs are installed, you can proceed with the installation of the player. A fairly common video viewer is called PowerDVD. This player plays absolutely all formats. Find the program on the Internet and download.
Step 4
Start the installation. In the first window, you can read the introductory information. Then proceed further. In the next window, select the folder where you want to install the program, and then go on. A window will appear in which you need to register the product (not on all versions of the player). Just enter your username and email address.
Step 5
Then the installation of the program will begin. Wait for it to complete and close the installation window. Now with this player you can play videos of any format.
Step 6
If the picture slows down during AVCHD format playback, this is not a defect in the player. To play video of this format, it is desirable to have a computer with a dual-core processor, 1.5 gigabytes of RAM and a discrete video card.
