The peculiarity of the game "Stalker" is not only a dark and mysterious atmosphere, but also a variety of weapons, armor and artifacts. Therefore, sooner or later, the player is faced with the question: which of the least valuable to throw out of the backpack in order to squeeze a novelty there? There are several ways to avoid this situation in the game.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way to increase your carry weight without changing game settings or putting in a lot of effort is to start a firefight with some weak enemy character. To do this, find a lone bandit in the "Exclusion Zone" and kill him. Now go to the body and open its inventory by pressing the F button. Transfer all the necessary items to the victim's backpack, then close the inventory window and press Shift and F. While holding these keys, move anywhere, dragging an enemy corpse full of useful things. To take what you need from it, simply release the held keys and press the open inventory button.
Step 2
Another way is to move along the plot of the game, completing tasks of merchants and the "Freedom" or "Duty" grouping. When you reach a certain level in relations with them, the characters will begin to appear on sale new items, one of them will be an exoskeleton. Save up money for it and buy it. In it, you will lose the ability to run, but the weight you carry will increase significantly.
Step 3
To increase the weight in Stalker in a way not provided for by the mechanics of the game, use a cheat code. During the game, press the `(tilde) key, switch the keyboard to the English layout and enter: g_always_run 1. This will enable unlimited running and can ignore the weight limit of things, after which the character moves only at a step.
Step 4
Another option is to change the game settings. To do this, open the gamedata folder, open the config folder in it, and there, in turn, the creatures folder. Find the actor.ltx file in it and open it with Notepad. In the text that appears, find the lines max_item_mass and max_walk_weight. Change the numbers in these lines upwards (for example, max_item_mass = 5000).
Step 5
After that, in the config folder in the same way, open the system.ltx file and in the max_weight line change the number to the same value that you set in the previous file. Close them and save your changes. Enter the game and the carried weight will increase to 5 tons.
