Step 1
In order to take advantage of the automatic update of the version of Opera that has just been installed in the operating system, no special steps are required. This setting is enabled by default, so just wait for your next browser refresh session. It is possible that he has already downloaded the latest release posted on the Opera server - you will find out about this after the next browser launch. The program is configured so that the replacement of the old version with the new one is made only when the application is opened, so as not to interrupt the current web surfing session. After the update, the browser displays a corresponding message and loads a page with brief information about the updates of the installed release.

If the previously installed browser does not automatically update, it is likely that the corresponding setting has been changed in it and you should reactivate it. This must be done through the Opera main settings panel - bring it up on the screen using the Ctrl + F12 hotkeys or the General Settings item in the Settings section of the program menu.

From the five tabs of the settings window, select the right one - "Advanced". It is divided into sections, the selection of which is carried out through the list at the left edge of this tab - click on the line "Security". The required installation is placed in the last line - it is a drop-down list next to the inscription "Opera update". The list contains three items, the last of which - "Install automatically" - enables the update mode, completely independent of the user. Another item - "Ask before installing" - forces the browser when a new version appears on the Opera server, display a dialog box asking whether to update. The third item - "Do not check" - disables the auto-update function.
