If you need to make a disc image, and there are no specialized programs at hand, then even the usual, everyone's favorite Nero, which many use to burn discs, may work.
Instructions
Step 1
The Nero Burning Rom program has long been considered one of the most popular programs for burning CD and DVD discs and many people use it exclusively for this purpose. However, not everyone knows that with its help you can do and much more, in particular, create disk images, which can later be used for virtual drives and for recording on physical media. You can download it from the official website www.nero.com
Step 2
In order to create an image, start Nero Express and select Image Recorder as the recorder (DVD or CD, whichever image you need). Further in the field "What do you want to record?" select "Data" and "Data disc" (or "Bootable data disc" if you plan to then burn the image and use the disc to boot).
Step 3
Use the Add button to select the files and folders that you want to see in the disk image. The red bar at the bottom of the scale shows you to what size you can fill the image with files. When done, click on the "Next" button.
Step 4
Here you can change the disc name and select the recorder if for some reason you forgot to do so at the beginning. Now click on the "Record" button. You will be prompted to write a filename and select the type of image nrg or iso. The nrg image is less common. It is recognized by the Nero program itself and some other virtual disk emulators. The iso images are more common and are understood by most emulators. Click the Save button, then wait while Nero creates the image and writes it to your hard drive.
Step 5
In order to burn the created image to disc, switch to Nero Burning Rom, instead of Image Recorder, select your burner, and in the top menu select "Recorder" and "Burn Image". After specifying the file, you will be taken to the disc burn menu. Here click "Burn" and wait for the information to be written.
