In order to connect computers to a local network, work or play on them, you need an Internet connection. Connection to the global network is carried out using a modem. You can use ordinary USB modems, which are currently offered by telephone operators Beeline, MTS and Megafon.
Instructions
Step 1
So, to connect to the Internet, purchase a modem from a service provider. The USB modem comes with a SIM card with a phone number for the modem. Insert it into the modem. Connect your device to your computer. The Modem Software Installation Wizard will automatically start.
Step 2
Follow the wizard's prompts. First of all, accept the license agreement. Then, if there is no need to start the modem when turning on the computer, then uncheck the box next to the corresponding command. Select the storage location for the program. It is automatically placed on the local drive C, in the Program Files folder.
Step 3
After installing the program, enter the settings and find the network through a manual search, if the automatic did not work. Save the settings. You can connect to the network. Click the "Connect" command and activate the SIM card. The modem is now ready for use.
Step 4
If the modem says that the device is not serviced, then the drivers are not installed. To install them, enter the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu. Select the System and Maintenance option and go to the Device Manager tab. Find the modem in the list of devices. Next to it will be the names of the drivers. Click on the bottom with the right mouse button and enter the "Properties" menu. Then click on Update Drivers. The system will ask you whether to find drivers on the Internet or install from this computer. Choose the second.
Step 5
A window will open in which you must specify the folder with the files, that is, the folder where you saved the software for the modem. Click Ok. Also update the rest of the drivers. The device is now ready for use.
