Often users are interested in the parameters of the computer on which they have to work. After buying this or that program, the system requirements that are necessary for its normal operation are always listed on the cover of the disc. Many parameters can be found using the diagnostic tools built into the operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
Click "Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel". In the window that opens, find the "System" shortcut and double-click on it with the left mouse button. The System Properties window will open. The same window can be opened by right-clicking on the "My Computer" tab and choosing "Properties" from the drop-down menu.
Click the General tab. On this tab, you can find out the following computer parameters: the amount of RAM, the name and frequency of the processor, as well as the operating system installed on the computer.
Step 2
Switch to the Hardware tab. On this tab, click "Device Manager". More detailed information can be found here. In the "Video adapters" section, you can find out the name and manufacturer of your video card, in the "Network cards" section, see the number and model of the computer's network cards. The Disk Drives directory lists your physical hard drives connected to your computer.
Step 3
Close Device Manager and System Properties window. Click Start - Run. In the command line, type "Dxdiag" and press Enter. The launched directx diagnostic utility will supplement information about the computer parameters with information about the BIOS version, paging file, give comprehensive information about the video adapter and sound card, and allow their express check.
