Some models of modern mobile computers and monoblocks are equipped with two video cards. This usually allows you to use your laptop for longer without connecting the device to AC power.
Instructions
Step 1
If you need to switch the active video adapter, then follow this procedure through the BIOS menu. Restart your laptop and press the Delete (F2) key to open an additional menu. Select BIOS and press Enter.
Step 2
Now open the menu of your BIOS, which is responsible for managing video adapters. If it has the function of switching the video card, then follow the procedure for activating the desired device. If there is no such item, then simply disconnect the unnecessary device. Pay attention to the fact that it is highly discouraged to disable the integrated video card running on an Intel processor. This can lead to loss of the image altogether.
Step 3
Restart your laptop and make sure the correct video adapter is currently active. To do this, open the device manager and see which of the video cards is enabled.
Step 4
If you failed to switch the video card through the BIOS, then use additional utilities. For integrated video adapters that use an Intel processor, this program is called Intel Graphics Media Accelerator. Download the version of the utility that contains the drivers for your integrated video card.
Step 5
This program will automatically switch video adapters. You can independently set the parameters and programs, when launched, you need to enable a full-fledged video adapter. To do this, open the program and go to the Options menu.
Step 6
In the event that an AMD processor is installed in the laptop, download from the site www.ati.com Catalyst Control Center. Run it after restarting your laptop. Select High GPU Performance or Low GPU Performance. When these parameters are activated, a full-fledged or integrated video card will be launched, respectively.
