The worldwide network contains millions of images - large and small, but sometimes these millions are not suitable for the goals and objectives of a particular user, so some people prefer to create avatars on their own. An avatar in web forums, chats, portals, social networks, blogs is usually presented in the form of a two-dimensional image. 3D models are used in online games. The main purpose of an avatar is a graphical, public representation of the user.

Download the Second Life client, run it by agreeing to the terms of use (the program is not intended for commercial use). Create an account on the home page of this site. Please register.

Choose from the offered templates an avatar, then click "provide other requested information", click on the "Download" button. The Second Life icon appears on your computer desktop.

Watch the video tutorial "How to change your appearance" on the website. Next, through the icon on the desktop of your PC, enter Second Life and select "Connect". You will see that your avatar is walking with others in a virtual environment.

Right-click the avatar. A circle with choices will appear in it. Click on "Appearance". Your avatar will appear in close-up (selection grid). Examine the grid. You can change many areas. These areas include the face, body, and clothing.

Select Face, look at the options for Eyes, Nose, Brows. Think about what you want to change in appearance. If the eye color, click on the "Eyes" button and use the color palette, formatting the eye size and type. Select the position of the scale with the mouse using the indicator. Use the mouse to move the indicator along the percentage scale. Zero are very small eyes and 100 are large. As you move the mouse, the changes should be displayed on the right side of the image. Save the settings until you get the desired result.

Do the same with other characteristics of the face, for example, the program allows you to set the size of the nose, the distance of the eyes, eyebrows, the plumpness of the lips and the presence of … teeth. Experiment with your own appearance or the appearance of the chosen character.

After editing the appearance, you just have to place your avatar in the selected template of the virtual world. Add parts from the catalog (in the upper right corner of the workspace of the program) and start your life on the net!
