Add-ons add additional features to the browser - toolbars, blocking advertising banners, animated mouse, etc. They can be turned on and off as additional options.
Instructions
Step 1
Some add-ons may already be installed on your computer without your knowledge. This can be the case if the add-in is part of another program that you previously installed. Some add-ons may be installed along with the Windows operating system.
Step 2
The latest and most commonly used versions of Internet Explorer 7 and 8. To enable add-ons in Internet Explorer 7, start the browser by double-clicking the shortcut on your desktop. Or click the "Start" button and select Internet Explorer from the general list. In the top menu, click the "Tools" button, in the drop-down list, select "Manage add-ons" and click "Turn add-ons on or off."
Step 3
On the button bar on the left, in the "Display" field, click the arrow and select "Add-ons used by Internet Explorer" to show you all the add-ons.
Step 4
Select the add-in or add-on group that you want to enable. The bottom field will display the name of the add-on (plug-in), version, file date, digital signature (not all have). It also prompts you to search for the add-in using the default search provider.
Step 5
In the lower field, at the bottom right, you will see the "Enable" button, click to enable the add-on. Alternatively, right-click on the desired add-in and select "Enable". Then click the "OK" button.
Step 6
In Internet Explorer 8. In the top menu, select the "Tools" button and then the "Add-ons" item. On the button bar on the left, in the "Display" field, click on the arrow and select "All add-ons".
Step 7
Select the add-in or group of add-ons you want to include. Click on the "Enable" button in the lower field or right-click on the "Enable" item. Repeat this step for each add-in you include. The add-in status will change to appropriate. Then click the Close button.
