Step 1
The performance of a video card is determined by the number of fps (frames per second) that it can produce in a particular application under certain settings. First of all, games are relevant for measuring the performance of a video card, so they will be considered. A good performance indicator, meaning a comfortable pastime in your favorite game, is a value of at least 60 fps, so you should focus on it.
Step 2
To measure the performance of a video card, first select those games that are important to you. There will be no sense if a 10-year-old game that you are not going to play shows excellent performance. In addition, make sure that the game actively uses the 3D resources of your card, otherwise you will not get an adequate picture of the card's performance. And finally, make sure that the game is popular enough and that other users also conduct tests on it, because otherwise you will not be able to compare your video card with others.
Step 3
Most modern games have built-in tools for measuring the number of frames per second, the so-called benchmarks. When the benchmark is launched, a game demoscene specially recorded for measuring performance is played for several minutes, at the end of which the game shows the average performance of the video card in fps.
Step 4
When the choice is made, proceed, in fact, to testing. Restart your computer before testing and do not run any programs. To test, launch the game and select the video settings you need. Run the benchmark 3-5 times. The real performance of the card will be the average value from each of 3-5 runs.
