In order to keep the hard drive clean and the operating system healthy, it is useful to know what files are on it and see their size. However, modern versions of Windows are increasingly fencing users from unnecessary information, hiding a huge part of the service data in hidden folders that are usually not shown. In fact, it is very easy to see hidden folders.
Instructions
Step 1
Since hidden folders are folders that actually exist on the disk, you can easily enter them. To do this, in the address bar of Windows Explorer, you must manually enter the location of folders and files on the disk. For example, by entering the address “C: / games / Buziol Games”, we will get into the “Buziol Games” folder, even if it is hidden. True, for this you need to know the exact location of the hidden folder, otherwise you will not be able to get into it.
Step 2
Another option to see hidden folders is to disable the corresponding option of the operating system, thanks to which hidden folders are not visible in the general list of files. To do this, select the "Folder options" in the menu, in the window that opens, go to the "View" tab and in the additional parameters field, put a tick on the "Show hidden files and folders" option. Now, when we open any folder, we will see all the elements in it, including those marked with the "Hidden" attribute.
Step 3
Another way to see hidden folders is to connect the hard drive they are on to another computer with a non-Windows operating system. The fact is that the Windows operating system sets the attributes of files and folders for itself. Regardless of the properties, every folder and every file is still on your computer's hard drive. Therefore, by connecting the hard drive to another computer, we will be able to see absolutely all of its contents. And not only see, but also change, copy and delete it.
Step 4
The next way to see hidden folders is based on the same principle. Very often, various LiveCDs are used to restore information or prepare a hard drive for system installation. They are loaded with their own operating system, from which there is access to various devices installed on the computer. Going to any hard drive, we will see absolutely all folders and files on it, regardless of what attributes are specified in their properties.
