To properly increase the RAM, it is necessary to find out the important characteristics of the motherboard and existing RAM modules. The Speccy program will help you with this. Download and install this app.
Step 2
Launch the Speccy program window and click on the "RAM" link. Carefully study the information in the menu that opens. First, find out the number of free memory slots.
Step 3
Now check the type of memory cards and the bus bandwidth. Also, pay attention to the amount of RAM modules that are active. Based on this information, purchase the required number of new memory cards.

It is important to understand that installing modules with lower bandwidth can negatively affect the overall performance of the RAM. Take your choice of new boards very seriously.
Step 5
Unplug your computer from AC power. Open access to the internal devices of the system unit. To do this, unfasten the left side of the case. Find free slots for installing RAM modules.

If you decide to replace existing boards, carefully remove the unneeded modules. To do this, undo the latches located on both sides of each device.
