A computer is a tool that should create maximum convenience when working. If your work is related to a set of texts or other data, then it should be convenient for you to switch languages as soon as you need it.
Instructions
Step 1
Install the languages you need on your keyboard. By default, as a rule, only English is installed on the system. If you want to type in Russian, you will have to add this language to your arsenal. To do this, go to the Start button menu. Select "Control Panel". In the window that appears, find the icon labeled "Languages and Regional Standards". It is usually depicted as a globe. Double-click on it with the left mouse button. A window will appear in front of you. There you will see two tabs: Regional Standards and Languages.
Step 2
Select the Languages tab. Then click the "Details" button. You will see a list of all installed languages on your personal computer. To type on the Russian keyboard add it to the list. To do this, click the "Add" button. In the list that appears, find the Russian language and add it to the arsenal. After that, click the OK button to apply the changes.
Step 3
Find a small blue square on the right side of the taskbar. It should be written EN by default. This means that the English layout is now enabled on your keyboard. To change it, left-click on this square. You will see a list of all available languages. Find the one you need and click on it once with the left mouse button.
Step 4
Use hotkeys to quickly translate your keyboard layout into your preferred language. Hotkeys are shortcuts that speed up an action. To quickly translate the keyboard of your personal computer into Russian, press Alt and then Shift. The language layout will change instantly. You can also use the Ctrl + Shift combination.
Step 5
Look in the taskbar to see which actions are assigned to these combinations, so they can mean different actions on different systems. For example, in Windows XP Alt + Shift - change the language, Ctrl + Shift - change the position of letters, i.e. the language is the same, but the layout is different. In Windows 7, the opposite is true.
