For example, you can move frequently used files to one side and leave less frequently used files on the other side of a folder.

Step 1
Each operating system has its own nuances that should be considered. In Windows XP, everything is pretty simple. Go to the folder where you want to swap the files. Click on the file with the left mouse button, but do not release the button. After that drag it wherever you want. In this way, you can swap files directly in the folder itself.
Step 2
If you want to transfer a file from one folder to another, you can do it like this. Click on the file you want to move with the right mouse button. A context menu will appear. In this menu, you must select the "Cut" option. After that, right-click on the folder where you want to move the file, and then select "Paste" from the context menu. If the file is moved to a folder located on the same logical partition of the hard disk, then the movement will take place instantly. If the destination folder is located on a different logical drive, you will have to wait a bit.
Step 3
If you need to move several files at the same time, you can do it like this. Press and hold the ctrl key. Then, without releasing it, click on the files that need to be transferred with the left mouse button. Right-click on the last selected file, then select the "Cut" command.
Step 4
The same operations can be performed in the Windows 7 operating system, with the exception of one. You cannot drag and drop files within a folder. This can only be done on the desktop. The developers of this OS simply ruled out this possibility. The only option in this case is sorting. To do this, simply right-click on the empty space in the required folder, and then hover over the "Sort" option. Options for sorting the files in the folder appear.
