In the spreadsheet editor Microsoft Office Excel, you can program the execution of actions of any function - a set of operators built into the application is intended for this. But sometimes it is necessary not to duplicate the formula using Excel, but to display it in one of the cells of the spreadsheet in its original form. This is also possible.

Instructions
Step 1
Open Excel - the link to launch this application by default should be in the OS main menu, in the Microsoft Office subsection of the All Programs section.
Step 2
Load the required document into the program. The file search dialog box is invoked by pressing the Ctrl + O keyboard shortcut.
Step 3
Find and select the cell in the spreadsheet where the formula should be placed.
Step 4
Click the Insert tab on the Microsoft Excel menu and find the Insert Object icon. In the “Text” group of commands, it is the bottom one in the column of three pictures at the right border of this section. There is no label on this button, but when you hover over it, the tooltip "Insert Object" pops up. Click on this button.
Step 5
Find and select the Microsoft Equation 3.0 line in the Object type list of the window that opens. Make sure the Icon View box is unchecked and click OK. Excel will place a new object in the specified cell and enable formula editing mode. The Formula panel appears with an additional set of mathematical symbols and formatting options.
Step 6
Construct the desired formula using the additional panel, and when finished, click on any cell in the table, and the editing mode will be turned off, and the additional panel will be hidden.
Step 7
If you need to make changes to the formula, double-click on it with the left mouse button and Excel activates the editing mode.
Step 8
You can also change the appearance of the entered formula - background color, frame, make it the background of the table, etc. Tools for these operations are placed on the "Drawing Tools" tab - it will appear in the table editor menu whenever an object with a formula is selected. You can also resize this object with the mouse, dragging the anchor points on the frame around it to the desired position.
