Step 1
The first thing to note is that the internal hard drive must be replaced with the computer disconnected from the mains. Thus, you exclude the possibility of electric shock during replacement, as well as damage to storage devices. After the system unit has been de-energized, proceed to disassemble it. To access the hard drive bracket, you need to remove the side covers of the unit. The retention screws are located on the back of the computer.
Step 2
With the side covers removed, you can proceed to remove the hard drive. First of all, disconnect from the device all wires and loops that will be connected to it. Then you can unscrew the retaining screws and take out the old hard drive.
Step 3
Insert the new hard drive in place of the old one and securely fix its position with the mounting screws. After the device is secured, connect the power cable and cables to it. After that, you can return the side walls of the system unit to their previous position. Once the computer is assembled, you can plug it back in.
