The Windows operating system is able to synchronize its system clock with an accurate time server on the Internet. In addition, it can independently set the clock when switching to winter and summer time. However, it is sometimes necessary to change the time of the system clock on your own. It is not difficult to do this, but the procedure has some differences in different versions of the system.

Instructions

Step 1

Double-click the clock in the tray (in the notification area of the taskbar). The window that opens will look different depending on the version of the operating system you are using.

Step 2

Click the Change Date and Time Settings link under the clock and calendar if you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista. This will open a second "Date and Time" window.

Step 3

Click the "Change date and time" button and the system will open the third window for you. The image of a shield in front of the inscription on this button means that the user must have administrator rights to access the operating system component opened by this button.

Step 4

Click on the current hour in the field below the round analog clock in the right pane of the window that opens. You can change the value of this indicator using the up and down arrow buttons, or by clicking on the arrows on the right side of this field. You can also enter the desired numbers from the keyboard. Change the value for minutes and seconds in the same way.

Step 5

Close all open windows by pressing the "OK" key and the clock conversion procedure will be completed.

Step 6

If you are using Windows XP, then after the first step described above, you will immediately get access to the fields for setting the hours, minutes and seconds - the corresponding control is placed in the lower right part of the "Date and Time" tab. Changes to indicators in these fields are organized in the same way as in the later versions of this operating system described above. Do not forget to fix the clock translation by clicking "OK" or "Apply".

Step 7

There is also a method of accessing this operating system component that is universal for all described versions of Windows. To use it, press the key combination win + r, type the command timedate.cpl and press enter.
