Increasingly, developers are forgetting about the single-player campaign, preferring levels for joint passage on the Internet; install security systems designed exclusively for online registration; create games exclusively MMO-oriented. At the same time, the percentage of players who are not connected to the network is simply ignored.

Step 1
Internet access can usually be replaced by a LAN. If several computers are connected to each other, then they are defined as a "local network", and a number of games requiring cooperative passage (Dead Island, Portal 2, Borderlands) allow you to play with other people without an Internet connection. In the main menu of the product, you will need to select the "LAN game" item, after which you will be taken to the games lobby. Select "create a game", other users must "connect" by entering the IP address of your computer.
Step 2
You can also play MMO projects over a local network. The specificity of these products lies in the fact that they are designed for a large number of players (up to several thousand at the same time), and therefore it hardly makes sense to travel the world alone. However, if a local network is available to you, then you can create a server with your friends (you will first have to download a set of appropriate tools) on one of the computers. Instructions for creating a server can be found on the fan forums for a particular game.
Step 3
Start the game with bots. Many multiplayer shooters (Quake 3, Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike) have a mode, in most cases called "training". He replaces real players with computer opponents. However, to connect them, you may also need a third-party program: for example, there were no "bots" for the tactical shooter Counter-Strike version 1.6, and therefore the fans independently developed a number of plugins to add them.

If the game requires online registration or a permanent connection to the network, then the problem cannot be solved. Such precautions are created by the developers as protection against illegal copying, but they are more inconvenient for the players, because "Pirates" over and over again successfully bypass such a blockage by creating all sorts of Crack and NoDVD. Installing such, although it saves you the need to register online, is copyright infringement and is therefore illegal.
