The power of almost any modern video card can be increased. The fact is that all graphics adapters come with factory settings, and to play it safe, manufacturers do not set the processor frequency and memory speed to the maximum. With standard cooling, the video card can be overclocked by 10-15% without problems. If you use additional cooling, then the power of the graphics adapter can be overclocked by more than 20%. This will significantly increase the performance of the board in video games.

Step 1
If you have an ATI graphics card, you need to install the Catalyst Control Center software to overclock. It should be on the driver disc. You can also download this application from the official website of the company. Install the application and then restart your computer.
Step 2
After restarting the PC, right-click on an empty space on the desktop and select Control Center from the context menu that appears. In the window that appears, check the "Advanced" item and click "Next". A window with advanced settings of the program will appear. There is an arrow in the upper left corner. Click on it with the left mouse button, then select ATI Overdrive. In the window that appears, click on the lock icon. This will unlock access to overclocking the parameters of the video card.
Step 3
Now notice the two stripes. There are sliders on them. By moving these sliders, you can increase the power of your graphics card. First, move the top slider slightly to the right. This will increase the speed of the video card processor. After that, also move the slider on the lower strip. In this way, you will increase the speed of the video card memory. Then click "Apply" and OK. The power of the video card has been increased. If the video card works fine with these parameters, you can try to increase the power a little more.
Step 4
If you own an nVidia graphics card, you will need the RivaTuner software. Download it and install it on your computer. Run the program. Your graphics card model will be written in the main menu. There is an arrow next to the name of the card. Click on it and in the menu that appears, select "Low-level system settings". A window with two stripes will appear. Moving the sliders to the right will increase the power of your graphics card. The procedure is the same as in the previous case.
