Selecting and installing an operating system is a very important process. To ensure the comfortable use of a personal computer, it is necessary to take a responsible approach to the OS installation procedure.

Step 1
Start by preparing the installation disc. Download an image containing the files for the desired operating system. Specify two features of the complete image: the presence of the Russian-language version of the OS and the bitness of the system.
Step 2
Determining the Windows type is easy enough. If your computer has more than three GB of RAM, be sure to use Windows x64. Otherwise, both types of system will do.
Step 3
Write the downloaded image files to a disk drive. This process can be done using the free ISO File Burning program. It preserves the multiboot properties, which is extremely important when installing the operating system.
Step 4
Reboot your computer. Examine the contents of the start window and find the name of the key that launches the Quick Boot menu. Click this button. After opening the specified menu, highlight the Internal DVD-Rom item with the cursor. Press the Enter key.
Step 5
Wait a while while the preparation of the files required to run the OS installation program is completed. For Windows Vista and Seven, select a language from the first dialog box. Remember that this item does not apply to the system itself, but to its installation menu.
Step 6
Do not restart your computer if you accidentally choose English. In the next window, you will be asked to select the version of the system, its bit depth and language features. It should be noted that this feature is peculiar only to so-called multipacks. These are disk images containing a large number of OS versions.
Step 7
In the next window, select a local drive to install the system. Wait for the first stage of Windows installation to complete. After restarting the computer, enter the license key. Check the box next to the option "Activate when you first connect to the Internet."
Step 8
Select a primary keyboard layout and change advanced system settings. Wait for another computer restart.
